We have all been there: you are wrangling multiple onchain opportunities, farms, points, memecoins, investments, fundamental longs… but which one is doing well? What’s the actual PNL? Which strategy should you stop and which one should you double down on?

Lighthouse Strategies is a powerful tool that gives you full control over your deployed crypto assets, monitoring their performance in multiple accounting currencies.

What is a Strategy?

In Lighthouse, a Strategy is a group of positions belonging to one or more of your accounts, with a series of funding entries (Assets In & Assets Out). This lets you track the current value of the Strategy, how much funding went in and by consequence, the PNL.

A Lighthouse Strategy can be created for different types of activities:

  • Going long a specific token.

  • Farming points / tokens with a protocol.

  • Receiving Airdrops.

  • LPing on an AMM, vault or any tracked protocol.

  • … or anything else you are doing onchain (or on a CEX).

How do Strategies work?

There are two building blocks to any Lighthouse Strategy:

  1. Positions: a selection of positions from one or more of your accounts that you consider part of this strategy.

  2. Funding: a list of entries recording when funds are added to a strategy (Assets In) or removed (Assets Out).

By keeping the Selected Positions and Funding Entries up to date, your Strategies will be up to date with Positions Value (= the total value of the strategy), Funding Value (= the total value of capital added & removed from the strategy) and PNL.

Create a Strategy

  1. Select Strategies on the left sidebar.

  2. Click on the Create Strategy button in the top right.

  3. Write a Strategy name & select the accounts that you consider part of this strategy. All the positions for those accounts will be loaded and you can select the ones you want to include in the strategy. Press Next at the bottom right of the page.

  4. By default the strategy is accounted in USD and starts from the current date but you can chose a different accounting currency (BTC or ETH) and a different starting date.

  5. You can optionally provide information regarding the initial funding of the strategy which refers to the initial amount of a token which was use to start the strategy; you’ll be able to provide more details about this in the strategy page.

  6. Complete the flow by clicking Create strategy button.

Select Positions

The Selected Positions represent the assets currently considered part of the strategy. Once selected, Lighthouse will keep track of these positions automatically but manual selection is required when new positions need to be added to the strategy.

  1. In the Positions section of a Strategy, click on the Update button.

  2. Tick the checkbox of all the positions that you consider part of this strategy. You can also select more accounts to load their positions

  3. Click the Done button to confirm.

Combining Manual Positions (with Custom Asset) and Lighthouse Strategies, enables you to track any possible crypto strategy including investments, points farms, NFTs and more.

Add Funding

Funding Entries lets Lighthouse calculate for each Strategy how much capital you have deployed (Assets In) and how much capital you have withdrawn (Assets Out). This is necessary to calculate the “Funding Value” and “PNL” metrics.

  1. In the Funding section of a Strategy click on the Add button.

  2. Select if you are recording a further deployment of capital “Assets In” or a capital withdrawal from the strategy “Assets Out” and the date for this Funding Entry.** This is used to calculate the historical value of the entry in the different accounting currencies.

  3. Select the assets and amount for this Funding Entry.

  4. Optionally add a block-explorer link and note to the Funding Entry.

  5. Confirm by clicking the Create entry button.
